Saving you money on repairing a piece of furniture rather than replacing it is what we do best. There are three basic services that we provide based on the damage that a piece has incurred.
1. Repairs. This can be anything as simple as re-gluing a chair or minor fractures to extensive pet damage (see photo ).
2. Restoration. This process may involve replacing worn out structural pieces, decorative carvings, or revitalizing the color and finish to a piece. Extensive heat or water damage may require restoring the finish. ( See photo)
3. Refinishing. Stripping and refinishing can be one of the most expensive processes depending on the type of finish the piece has to begin with. Off with the old and on with the new can be very complicated and time consuming. Some finishes are impervious to strippers and must be sanded off. Paint and primers may need several applications to get down to the bare wood. Needless to say, this process is a "last resort" unless a color change is desired. Some may opt to have the piece painted instead.

Most wooden furniture can be repaired or restored to close to their original state. Very old pieces or antiques lose a lot of their natural oils over time and become soft and brittle. Some of these may never be strong enough even after restoration to function as well as they did when new .They've earned the right to just sit, look pretty, and show off their years of "character marks".
